Designed in consultation with those who know the risks – event managers, volunteers, and first-aid responders
pikl emerged from the intersection of two worlds: high-stakes safeguarding and practical event participation.
A career in community programs, including managing child protection initiatives, taught me that you can’t afford to cross your fingers and hope it all works out. Understanding, managing, and mitigating risk is essential in avoiding tragic outcomes.
As a regular parkrun and fun run participant, I saw that when accidents and injuries occur that responders often don’t have access to emergency information to guide their actions or support.
Having previously developed QR-based technology that connected property owners with their assets, I recognised the same principle could revolutionise event safety. pikl puts participant-approved emergency information instantly in the hands of those who need it most.
